Wooden Snowflake Ornaments

This year I made these stained clothespin snowflake ornaments for friends and family, which they absolutely loved! They were very easy to make too!! As I was in the process of staining them, my husband had the most creative idea to add glitter to the stain, which made it all sparkly and pretty!! I then went to work creating an accent for the front to tie it all together. I love handmade things!!

Knitting Dreams

So since Fall started, I have been secretly teaching myself to knit. My Mom has been a huge source of my inspiration because she knits really well, and our realtor actually encouraged me to continue trying. So since everything is packed and I really don't have anything else to do, I wanted to finish a pattern  I had started earlier. So here they are! My little mittens, my first knitted creation!!

Turns out I'm actually quite good at it too!!!

"Joy" Pallet Art

I am so excited for Christmas!! It is by far my most favorite holiday!! I feel so giddy and happy, and it also inspires me the most. The last two days while we anxiously await our closing date for our new home, I had the itch to create something. So I cut a piece off a pallet, sanded it down, and began painting. My inspiration for this obviously came from pinterest... haha. Once it dried, I distressed it using sandpaper and attached some final decorations. Voila!! A perfect beautiful piece to display in our new home!

Frozen Crochet Hats ~ Anna & Elsa

So for Halloween this year, I think it's obvious that most little girls wanted to be Elsa & Anna. This was no shocker with my two oldest girls. I had planned on making their entire costumes, but when I went to purchase the fabric I needed, I found premade dresses for half the cost of what it would have been to make them. So, that left me with the last thing to make, the hats/hair. I'm not very good at braiding, so this was the perfect alternative, not to mention perfect to keep their heads warm since we live in Alaska. So here are my two princesses ready for Halloween!!!

Koala Bear Hat

So I recently met this friend and while her family was at the Mitchell Raceway, her daughter Trinity won a brand new bike! Well, I guess they had just bought her a new bike like the month before, so when she found out my oldest daughter needed a bigger bike, her daughter made the selfless act of kindness to give it to her. It was seriously the sweetest thing, and I had to do something to show her how grateful I was!! So after talking with her mom, I found out she had a love for Koala bears. She used to have this very same hat but outgrew it. Yesterday I was able to finish it & tonight her mom surprised her with it. It brings such happiness and joy to my heart to see someone enjoy something I make for them.

Chicken Wire Frame

I've had this frame for almost two years, just sitting on top of a cabinet. Again, while surfing through pinterest, I saw an idea where they stapled chicken wire to a frame and attached pics & misc items as decor. I decided to do that with this frame. The chicken wire I purchased was silver, so I spray painted it brown so it would match my living room colors better. It was easy, and costed under $10, and I love it!!

Birch Bark Creation

Took a piece of birch bark, cut it down, carved a heart and our intials, and popped it in a frame! I love birch bark!!!

A Blank Canvas & A Little Paint

Decided to start painting again! For some reason, I always get the itch to paint during Fall and the first part of winter. These are my creations so far :)

Pallet Coffee Table

My husband and I took three pallets and made them into this beautiful coffee table for some very dear friends of ours. Needless to say, they loved it!!!! I'm also not going to lie, this was a pain to make, but happy that it came together so nicely!

Sewn Baby Monkeys

Found this ADORABLE pattern on pinterest of the cutest little baby monkeys ever!!! So I bought it, and made one for my youngest daughter Hailey. When my daughter Jenaye saw it, she said all she wanted for her birthday was three baby monkeys! The fact that she wanted something that I could make her and not something from the store completely melted my heart. She is my monkey after all, from the very moment she was born! So here they are, the three monkeys requested by my soon to be 6 year old!!! Where has the time gone?!?!

Handmade Faux Window Shutters

So one day I was driving home and saw a busted up broken box spring on the side of the road. I turned around and went back for it. After stripping it down, I saw the pieces of wood and decided it'd be perfect to make the faux window shutters I have always wanted! So I went to work! After ordering some handles from hobby lobby, painting and distressing, here is the end result!

Found a cheap frame at our Value Village, painted and distressed it, and voila!!!

Heart~Shaped Pot Holders

My friend Melissa and I got together and made some super cute pot holders! I ended up making these for my other friend Melissa since she didn't have any. I fell in love with the colors she had chosen.

Pallet Art

I've seen these pallet art creations all over pinterest and I've been wanting to create one. So I snagged a pallet, and after sanding and cleaning, I assembled it & began painting. I wanted to paint something to hang in the girls room, something nature and girly. I'm pretty happy with the result :)

Minion Smash Cake

This is probably the cutest cake I've ever made!! I was hired by Beckal's Photography to recreate a cake that was found on Pinterest. Originally because of the limited time frame I was given, they only asked for one minion. Since I had time, I added a few more to make it more fun!!! They were totally in love with it!

One of A Kind Christmas Stockings

I am so very excited to share the four versions of stockings I created for all four of my kids. For a few years I have been meaning to make my kids stockings but it kept getting put off. I decided this was the Christmas I would finally make them, and I'm so happy I did!

Each one is custom designed and created myself. I drew out my own patterns for each of the characters and bought coordinating fabrics to match. These took a LOT of hard work but have so much attention to detail & are very sturdy. I used batting & created an insert so you don't see the batting on the inside, and no seams are showing. These are so sturdy and so wide that they fit a LOT of goodies for my kids on Christmas day & stood upright perfectly!

 It sure was a beautiful Christmas this year!

A Tiny Love For Owls

So I've always had a small love for owls, but it wasn't until I became an adult that I truly appreciated them, especially to incorporated in my home decor. I have been doing a lot of keepsake things with my daughter Hailey because she our last child of four, and I know these precious baby moments are fleeting so fast. A close friend of mine recently made these & I knew I wanted one for my own tree!!!

Little salt dough snowy owl ornaments!! A beautiful keepsake to always cherish on my tree every year!!! It's so simple and so cute!!!

Here is how to make them!

What you'll need:

2 cups flour

1 cup salt

1 cup warm water

(Olive Oil)

• Preheat oven to 250'
• Combine flour & salt. Gradually knead in warm water. You can add a little olive oil to make it less sticky. Knead for about 10 mins.
• Mold your ornament with your hands and not a rolling pin. Press your handprint.
• Cook for about 5 hours or until your ornament cooked through. You may need to set them on a wire rack so they'll cook through.
• Let them cool and then paint! Attach anything you'd like to make it unique!

Pallet Shelf

So this past Fall my husband and I built a pallet shelf that I had been dying to make. I found a similar idea off of pinterest, but we changed it slightly to make it our own. The pallet was free, so all that we spent was about $7 for the paint, and to this day, it's my most favorite shelf in our place!!

Alaskan Handmade Mitten Ornaments

These ornaments are simply beautiful, and they are designed and made entirely by myself. I decided to create a beautiful ornament to give out to all my friends & family this Christmas, and decided on making mittens!! These are so adorable & so far everyone just loves them!! It makes me truly happy just to spread a little happiness during the most wonderful time of the year!

These are VERY simple to make!! Just take a sheet of paper & trace out a mitten pattern. Cut out and pin to felt. You'll need to cut out four mitten shapes (two for each mitten). Take some embroidery thread and sew around the edges, leaving the top open. Stuff with polyfil and glue some lace around the top. Make sure you add your twine to the inside of the mitten before gluing it shut. Add some decorations & buttons & you have the perfect new addition to your tree!!
